: In Bologna a squatted anarchist-centre (Laboratoria Anarchico Paglietta) was
: been evicted on May 25th, 1999. Inside two people were sleeping, Andrea and
: Sara. The police, together with the medias, were breaking in to capture
: Andrea, a well-known anarchist (as newspapers reported), luckily he escaped
: through a hidden hole behind a wardrobe. But Sara got arrested for hindering
: the police and was put into jail. After some days she was transferred into
: home arrest, because she is pregnant.
: All of this started because in Bologna a DS-office had been burned during
: the war (sorry, I don't know which war is meant here - ABC Innsbruck). DS is
: the left party in power in Italy, and almost 30 offices had been burned war
: all over Italy during the. In the squat the police had found a poster signed
: "Individualita Anarchiche", that had been used to sign posters in Italy for
: years, but in Bologna some military tanks had been burned some months ago,
: leaving a flyer signed "Individualita Anarchiche". So they used a new
: conspiracy to subvert the system with that name and 18 people involved in
: it. In the end there were about 30 home searchings around Bologna, and 7
: people got a warrant (they are considered as the founders of the
: organisation) and 11 got the duty to pop in at the police station everyday.
: Luckily 16 of the these 18 people were already hiding, when they had
: understood what was going on. A guy named Tommaso was put into jail, and
: Sara was already at home. Her charge is no longer "hindering the police",
: but "forming a subversive organisation", which is really serious accusation
: in Italy.
: After a month or so there was a request to the "Court of Justice" (a court
: above other courts that regulates things), and analysing the case, it has
: seen that there is no proof for this charges. So now these 18 people are
: free, but just until the trial, since these charges have not bee dropped!
: The accusations are for squatting different places, flyposting, creating one
: tumult in a square and a theft, and not for the DS or tank burning! And for
: these other things the activists have already been charged and are waiting
: for a trial. So the subversive organisation is only an invention to allow
: heavier sentences to these people accused of not so serious acts!!
: So in Italy they are really trying to put people into jail without proofs of
: anything and creating a conspiracy seems the best idea. In these years a lot
: has been created: the "ORAI" conspiracy, the "Lupigrigi" one in Val Di Susa
: and now this. The first didn't work, the second managed to kill Edo and
: Sole, and the third is such a faked thing that we hope it won't work (also
: because if it works it will be used again!!).
