Mumia Leafleting This Weekend
Dear Friends:
The Coalition To Stop The Execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal met Thursday
night and organized several leafleting actions to get the word out on
the Demonstration on September 24th at the U.S.-Canadian Tunnel to
demand a new trial for Mumia.
At each location, you will find someone with Mumia flyers. Look for
them! Leafleting will last about an hour each time. We need your
support!
At the Montreux Jazz Festival in Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. Meet at
he Joe Louis fist statue on Jefferson Avenue and Woodward Avenue.
Sunday, September 5, 2 pm.
At Eastern Market, in front of the Rocky Peanut Store, on the corner of
Russell and the south end of Eastern Market.
Saturday, September 4, 12 noon.
At Labor Fest, at the Kern Block, just north of the intersection of
Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue. Pick up leaflets at the Labor
Party or National Lawyers Guild Tables. As the Labor Day Parade goes by,
people can leaflet the crowd or hold up the Mumia banner so that lots of
people will see it.
Monday, September 6, 10 am - 3 pm.
We will be scheduling MORE leafleting at the next Coalition Meeting,
Thursday, September 9, 6:30 pm, Wayne State University Student Center
Building, Room 299.

ONA MOVE!
The ICFFMAJ in Virginia will be protesting President Clinton on Monday
Sept 6, 1999 at Coleman Elementary School in Norfolk, Virginia. We will make
damn sure he hears Mumia's name and demand that he doesn't dare back off his
clemency offer to the members of FALN (Libertad!). In fact we will also
demand that he allow them their clemency without any stipulations.
Clinton is coming to this school because it is a blighted urban school
and we want to also tell him we don't buy his so-called war on poverty. We
know he is simply trying to put a spin on his presidential legacy.
Coleman Elementary school is located on Azalea Garden and Princess Anne
road in Norfolk. If anyone want to join us please call 757 440-8807 or 757
491-0633. The event is schedule to begin at 1pm.

FOP "HONOR ROLL" E-MAILS ...
------------------
To: "Abraham J. Bonowitz" <abe@cuadp.org> (by way of Grand Lodge FOP
<glfop@grandlodgefop.org>)
From: Tim Richardson <natlfop@wizard.net>
Subject: Re: Add us to the list
Mr. Bonowitz:
>Please add "Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death
>Penalty (CUADP)" to your list of groups to be boycotted.
I will certainly pass along your request with my recommendation that you be
included. However, be advised that we may be limiting our call for a
boycott to those who have contributed financially to Abu-Jamal and NOT
including those who are simply opposed to the death penalty for
philosophical or other reasons. While we disagree with that position, it
has nothing to do with our position on Abu-Jamal.

Response from Tim Richardson of the FOP to a request for
membership on their HONOR ROLL - the Boycott List
9/2/99
At this time, our list of those supporting the murderer
Abu-Jamal is limited to those who have contributed to him financially. If
you own a business or have financially contributed, then I will pass along
your name. I urge you to visit:
http://www.justice4danielfaulkner.com/ to find out a little
bit more about this case.
This is NOT a honor roll, but a list of people who are being
used by Abu-Jamal to evade a just sentence.
We have nothing to hide. The F.O.P. believes very strongly
that he did receive a fair trial in 1982, as well as a fair PCRAhearing in
1995, a second one in 1996 and an unprecedented third PCRA hearing in 1997.
In neither of these four trials was any evidence presented that he did not
receive a fair trial and in all cases, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled
against him unanimously.
I urge you to visit: http://www.justice4danielfaulkner.com/
It contains a great deal of information, include court transcripts
and the 1997 PCRA decision of the PA Supreme Court. I do
not know if you are aware of the true facts, both of his guilt and those
surrounding his trials. Abu-Jamal has been particularly adept at
distributing misinformation about his case to facilitate his fundraising.
The F.O.P. is hopeful that our boycott will give Abu-Jamal's supporters
reason to look more deeply into the facts and perhaps reconsider their
support and donations.
Incidentally, I have received identical letters to this one.
Could you let me know the source of the original document?
