Hi Guy

No you haven't missed any exchanges. Sorry the meeting time does not suit.

Somebody had to take the initiative. I waited 5 days after the announcement
of the signing of the death warrant and no one else took any initiative, so
I did.

On bahelf of FSP, I sent a proposal for action, date, time, venue to the
list at the same time David Glanz from ISO proposed the 27th for an
organising meeting. The two proposals then got combined.

What was VITAL is that we got something going in Melbourne right NOW.

I'm sure we all know the importance of being united and pulling out all
stops for the strongest possible action at this critical time.

I assume from your e-mail that Barricade will endorse. Also, what is a good
time for Barraicade people for a second organising meeting? We want to suit
as many of the commited activists as possible.

Cheers
Alison

Dear Alison

Thanks for the reply, but I have a few points to add.

Perhaps I was excluded from the email exchange that took place to organise
this meeting time and place, as I'm sure you wouldn't unilaterally call a
meeting and demonstration on behalf of MMW without consulting others.

The problem is that three (maybe four) of us will probably need to attend
an extremely important meeting at Barricade Books on Wednesday at 6:30pm,
making it difficult/impossible to attend the MMW meeting.

Unless the time/day can be changed, I am giving my apologies. I'm willing
to help publicise the day and anything else that I can help with, but I'm
not so keen on the GPO. We had a bad experience there last time and I
think any protest should be directed at US state/capitalist targets. My
preference is for the Consulate, but maybe a well-known US company
instead?

cheers
Guy
