What a major pain!!!
I think we DO need quality PA.
There are several possible plans
Plan A is that we:
* change the rally to 2 pm
* organise a team to be there from noon with the banner and a table to tell
people and to leaflet for the rally at 2 pm and collecting signatures on a
petition
* advertise as widely as possible via 3CR, LeftLink etc about the changed
time.
Plan B is that we:
* rally at noon at the GPO with megaphones
* set up a good quality PA outside one of the American Express Buildings
[suggest 233 Collins St]
* march at 12.15 to American Express in Collins Street and hold the rally
there.
My preference would be for Plan B. I think we will retain people better by
marching from the original venue to a new venue rather than moving the time.
We can also do some last minute PR that we will be march at 12.15 sharp to
encourage people to be on time!!
I'll hold off putting out the media release until this is clarified.

We have a problem and I need someone to conatct me TODAY ASAP (Tuesday)
In the process of trying to book a PA I have been told that we need to get
permission to hold event outside GPO before the PA people will book PA in.
I was refeere to a guy in Town Hall who said that at 12pm thater is a
Christmas Parade coming through the mall and past the GPO. In addition, GPO
does not close till 1.30pm. As such he would not give permission for setting
up of PA whille GPO is open and we are conflicting with another event. He
suggested that rally be moved to 2pm.
So these are our options:
1. Hold rally at same time without PA and use megaphone(unless someone knows
where we can find another PA)
2. Move Rally to 2pm
3. Move venue of rally
I am pressed for time and cannot spend too much time chasing this up so I
need
to know asap what should be done. Cna come one call me on 9925 2462.
